The Confidence Fund
Posted
As Mizzen+Main has grown into a nationally recognized brand, we strive to remain community-minded and locally-focused. The Confidence Fund exists to promote these brand values and to encourage the growth and care for the people we interact with every day.
Mizzen+Main is committed to donating $10,000 every quarter to organizations that seek to, like us, “create a better way.” In addition to financial support, we also dedicate a portion of product as well as volunteer employee hours to serve these amazing groups.
Below, you’ll find the organizations we’ve worked with and the reason we support the impact they’re making in their respective communities.
Big Thought
Dedicated to equipping youth in marginalized communities to imagine and create their best lives, Big Thought is an impact nonprofit that closes the opportunity gap by equipping all youth in marginalized communities with the skills and tools they need to succeed.
In addition to adopting a campus through Big Thought, Mizzen+Main donated $10,000 to the Thriving Minds program at Rosemont Elementary. These funds went specifically to art and STEM supplies as well as PPE supplies for staff and students participating in the program.
City Square
As the largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing in the City of Dallas, City Square fights the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship.
In partnership with City Square, Mizzen+Main employees have gathered to create meal kits for the community’s youth ages 14-24 who are transitioning from substitute care to self-sufficiency. Through these efforts, the Mizzen+Main family has served over 30,000 lbs. of groceries to more than 700 households.
One Man's Treasure
One Man’s Treasure is an organization that seeks to empower men recently released from prison by providing them with clothing and opportunities for networking. As a company, Mizzen+Main equips our customers with a better way to dress, delivering confidence and ease that improves their day-to-day pursuits.
In addition to donating over one thousand units of product to them over the past two years, we also gifted one shirt for every $300 spent at our warehouse sale in Dallas last year. Our goal is that these men were then able to wear shirts that gave them the confident mentality they needed to reenter the workforce.
After-School All-Stars
As one of the largest free school-based after school program providers in the country, After-School All-Stars provides free, comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life.
Mizzen+Main has volunteered at Medrano Jr. High School by helping with their end of the year field day, celebrating the students on their past year successes. We also hosted a CEO relays event where students had 3-5 minutes to interview Mizzen+Main employees in efforts to enhance their social and interview skills while also bring awareness to different job opportunities.
The Way Back House
The Way Back House addresses the barriers and challenges faced by individuals impacted by involvement in the criminal justice system. Through continuous and targeted efforts, they are reducing recidivism, generational incarceration, and poverty in our communities.
Mizzen+Main is offering financial support as they provide comprehensive wrap-around services that address immediate needs such as clothing, food, hygiene, housing assistance, referrals to social services, as well a continuum of case management and supportive services that empower individuals as they return to our communities.
While these efforts are just the beginning of what Mizzen+Main hopes to accomplish through a consistent deployment of charitable capital and employee volunteerism, we’re grateful for the opportunity to live and work in a community that is full of organizations dedicated to giving back.
Our promise to both our customers and our community is that we will not settle in our continuous efforts to create a better way while serving those who work to do the same.
